Nanbu Senbei
Nanbu Senbei are eaten throughout the Hachinohe region and Northern Iwate Prefecture. The kneaded dough, which is made by mixing wheat flour, salt, and water, is grilled in round molds, resulting in a rustic but deep flavor.
The famous local delicacy Hachinohe Senbei Soup contains special “Otsuyu Senbei” that don’t easily fall apart even when cooked. Many other flavors of Nanbu Senbei are now available as well.
